Season Start and Early Tournaments to the 2025/26 Professional Snooker season

The season begins with the Wuhan Open qualifiers, held June 22–24, 2025, at the Mattioli Arena in Leicester. This will be followed by the Championship League Ranking Event, from June 30 to July 23, 2025. Defending champion Ali Carter is set to return, as players compete for the first title of the new season.

Major Global Tournaments

Shanghai Masters

Set to take place from July 28 to August 3, this prestigious invitational tournament in China brings together the top-ranked snooker players.

Saudi Arabia Masters

Returning for its second year, this high-profile event runs from August 8 to 16, 2025. Judd Trump, the reigning champion, will look to defend his title in front of a growing fan base in the Middle East.

Home Nations Series and UK Championship

The Home Nations Series returns in September with the English Open. This year marks the final installment under the current 10-year contract for the series. Details about future seasons are expected to follow.

The first Triple Crown event of the season—the UK Championship—will be held at the Barbican Centre in York, from November 29 to December 7, 2025. The top 32 players will compete in a televised knockout format for one of the sport’s most prestigious titles.

Venue Highlights and Year-End Events

  • Shoot Out: Known for its fast-paced, single-frame matches, the Shoot Out heads back to the Circus Arena in Blackpool.

  • Scottish Open: The final event of 2025 wraps up just before Christmas in Edinburgh, offering players one last chance at silverware before the new year.

The Masters and 2026 Kick-Off

January kicks off with qualifiers and the non-ranking Championship League Invitational. Then, from January 11–18, 2026, fans will turn their attention to the Masters at Alexandra Palace in London—another Triple Crown fixture featuring the top 16 players in the world.
