Carty Wins English Amateur Tour Title in Leeds

Ashley Carty triumphed at the English Amateur Tour event in Leeds, defeating Daniel Womersley 4–1 in the final. The 30-year-old dropped only four frames across six matches and made the tournament’s top break of 143. Carty impressed throughout, posting further breaks of 57, 76, 75, 110, and 133, including a 4–0 quarter-final win over Peter Lines.

Womersley, who made a 142 break, opened the final with a 107 before Carty won four straight frames to clinch his first tour title in three years. The English Amateur Tour continues with its next event in Reading from 29–30 November.

Wu Yize Clinches First Ranking Title

China’s 22-year-old Wu Yize claimed his maiden ranking title by defeating four-time world champion John Higgins 10–6 in the International Championship final in Nanjing. After trailing 4–0 to Judd Trump in the last 16, Wu fought back to win 6–4 before whitewashing Barry Hawkins 6–0 in the quarter-finals. His impressive run continued with a composed performance in the final, where a decisive 108 break sealed victory.

This triumph lifts Wu into the world’s top 15 and makes him the ninth mainland Chinese player ever to win a professional ranking event, marking a major milestone in his young career.
