  • 🏆 Causier Retains British Open Title in Torquay

  • 🏆 Lines Clinches English Amateur Tour Title

Causier Retians British Open Title in Torquay

David Causier defeated Peter Gilchrist 675–257 to win the World Billiards British Open at the Cue Sports Academy in Torquay, England — successfully defending the crown he claimed in Manchester a year earlier.

Around fifty players took part in the Devon tournament. Causier advanced comfortably through the group stage and knockout rounds, including a century-break-assisted win over Chris Coumbe in the last 16. In the final he posted a high break of 114 and denied Gilchrist a repeat victory, cementing his status at the top of English billiards.

Lines Clinches English Amateur Tour Title

Peter Lines claimed the third event of the 2025–26 English Amateur Tour in Reading with a dominant 4–0 win over Hayden Staniland in the final. Lines nearly stumbled early on against teenager Daniel Boyes but steadied himself and dropped only four frames across the entire tournament. His control in the final was absolute, restricting Staniland to just 17 points. The victory marks Lines’s first title on the English Amateur Tour and underlines his enduring competitive edge.
