Calabrese Seizes Q Tour Asia‑Pacific Crown in Australia

Former professional Vinnie Calabrese edged out Ben Foster 5–4 to win the inaugural WPBSA Q Tour Asia‑Pacific event—dubbed the West Coast International—held at Pot Black Snooker Centre in North Perth from June 28–30, 2024. Calabrese breezed through the early rounds, not dropping a frame and compiling centuries in his first two matches. Despite trailing 4–3, he battled back, securing a dramatic final-frame decider with a superb 103 break after midnight. This victory marks his third Q Tour title and puts him atop the early series rankings. The next event, the Fred Osbourne Classic, will take place in Albury on August 2–4.

Nayyar Claims Canadian Amateur Snooker Championship

31-year-old Sahil Nayyar secured his first Canadian Amateur Snooker Championship title on 1 June 2025 by defeating former 2014 champion Alan Whitfield 5–2 in Scarborough. The Ludhiana-born player swept through a 64-strong field with commanding wins—whitewashing his group opponents and overcoming early tension, turning a 2–0 deficit against Blake Martel into a decisive 3–2 win in the last 32. Victories over Ahmad Farid Afandi, Amar Sadeg, and Cheukyin Kwan led him to the final. There, after an even start, Nayyar surged ahead to clinch the trophy, conceding just nine points in the final two frames
