The 2025 Wuhan Open qualifiers concluded at the Mattioli Arena in Leicester, with several standout performances. Neil Robertson secured a commanding 5–0 victory over Leone Crowley, showcasing his top-tier skill. Jack Lisowski also advanced, defeating Amir Sarkhosh 5–3. A notable comeback was achieved by Chang Bingyu, who overturned a 4–1 deficit to win 5–4 against Daniel Wells, marking a strong return after a two-year suspension. In contrast, Luca Brecel forfeited his match against Haris Tahir, resulting in a 5–0 walkover. The main event is scheduled for August 24–30 in Wuhan
Al-Obaidly Wins Bronze for Qatar at Asian Snooker Championship
Qatar’s Ali al-Obaidly earned a bronze medal in the 6-ball singles event at the Asian Snooker Championship in Colombo. The former world champion advanced to the semi-finals after impressive wins over players from Hong Kong, Bangladesh, and Cambodia, and a 5–3 quarter-final victory over Bahrain’s Habib Sabah. However, he fell 1–5 to India’s Paras Gupta in the semi-final. Malaysia’s Thor Chuan Leong went on to win gold. Al-Obaidly now turns his attention to the team event, where Qatar competes in Group 1 alongside Singapore and Pakistan.
